What Is Trade Estimating?

Estimates for the scope you actually carry

A sub doesn't bid the whole building. You bid your piece of it: the concrete, the steel, the electrical, the drywall. Trade estimating pulls that one scope out of the full set and measures it, with the exclusions and bid requirements written down before your proposal goes out.

We read the drawings, specs, schedules, and addenda for your division and build the takeoff around how that trade gets priced. You can check our coverage against the plans, send the material list out for supplier quotes, and build your number from there.

  • Quantities broken out by trade, area, and scope item
  • Material, labor, and equipment pricing if you want it
  • Marked-up plans showing where every quantity came from
  • Excel and PDF reports you can drop into your bid

Why choose us

Numbers you can bid from, at a fair fee

Our estimators work from the full plan set and specs, count what's on the drawings, and price it for your market. Fees stay competitive, and we schedule the work around your bid date so you can chase more jobs.

01

Numbers You Can Trace

Every quantity ties back to a marked-up sheet, and every assumption is written down. If something in the bid looks off, you can see exactly where it came from.

02

One Fee Per Project

You pay a lump-sum fee per project, quoted before we start. There are no hidden fees, and pricing is set up to lower what you spend on estimating today.

03

Built Around Your Bid Date

Tell us when the bid is due. Depending on the size and complexity of the job, we can turn some projects around within 24 hours.

Got Questions?
We've Got answers.

What is construction trade estimating?
It's an estimate for one scope of work, like concrete, masonry, electrical, or roofing, instead of the whole project. We go through the drawings and specs for that trade, measure the quantities, and note what's excluded and what the bid documents make you responsible for.
Can BidAccurate estimate more than one trade on a project?
Yes. Send one trade, a handful of divisions, or the whole job. Once we've looked at the documents, we confirm which trades are in, what you'll get back, how it's priced, and when it's due.
What documents should I send for a trade estimate?
The latest drawings and specs, any addenda, the project location, and your bid date. If you have supplier quotes or a company template you want us to use, include those too. Tell us which trade you're bidding and flag any alternates, exclusions, or labor requirements.
What will I receive with my trade estimate?
Usually a quantity takeoff and marked-up drawings, plus material and labor pricing if you asked for it. We list our assumptions and exclusions, and the summary comes in Excel or PDF. What's in the package depends on the trade and what we agreed to.
Do you provide trade estimates for subcontractors?
Yes, subs are most of who we work for, along with GCs, suppliers, and builders. Give us your cost codes, labor rates, supplier pricing, and bid format, and we'll build the estimate around them.
How long does a trade estimate take?
It depends on the trade, the size of the job, how complete the drawings are, and how many alternates there are. We'll look at the files and give you a delivery date and a fee before we start.
