Division 08 openings
BidAccurate provides doors and windows estimating services for Division 08 subs, general contractors, door and hardware distributors, window dealers, and homebuilders across the US. We start from the door and window schedules and the hardware sets, then check every opening number against the plans and elevations.
That check is where the problems show up: a door on the plan with no line on the schedule, a hardware set number that isn't in the spec, a window type that changed in the last addendum. We log these for you to raise as questions instead of guessing. Frames, glass, hardware, and install can stay on separate lines, so you can see who's quoting what.
Openings packages split differently on every job. Sometimes hardware is furnished by others, and sometimes storefront goes out as its own bid. We set the scope to match your bid form, and anything outside it is listed as excluded.
Every door keeps its opening number. Size, material, rating, and frame type travel with it from the schedule to the report.
We sort windows by operation, frame material, and size, then by elevation so you can see where each type lands on the building.
Glass is measured by makeup. One-inch insulated low-E and quarter-inch tempered aren't priced the same, so they don't share a line.
Hardware is organized by set number from the Section 08 71 00 spec. Then we count how many openings use each set.
When you want install priced, labor follows the opening count and the glazed area. Work by other trades, like wiring or wood blocking, is listed as excluded.
Most of Division 08 is bought by the opening, so most of it is counted rather than measured.
