Concrete reinforcing, CSI 03 20 00
BidAccurate's rebar estimating services are for reinforcing steel subs, concrete contractors, GCs, fabricators, and suppliers across the US. We read the structural plans, sections, reinforcing schedules, and general notes, then build a bar list you can bid from, send out for mill or fabricator pricing, or use to check a sub's number.
Total tons is the figure everyone asks for, but a ton of #4 stirrups takes more shop and field time than a ton of straight #8 bars. That's why we track bar size, shape, and laps separately. One limit to state up front: our bid-level bar lists aren't placing drawings or engineered details, and nobody should fabricate from them.
We scope each rebar estimate from the drawings, reinforcing schedules, general notes, and bid form. A fabricator needs a different breakdown than a GC checking bids, so tell us who the numbers are for.
Each bar gets its size, grade, coating, length, and weight from the schedules and details. That's the level a fabricator needs to quote.
We tie the steel to the concrete it goes in. Placing a footing mat and tying column cages are priced differently, so we report them apart.
Laps can add real weight. We measure the ones shown in the notes and details and put couplers, chairs, and bolsters on their own lines instead of adding a percentage to the tonnage.
Shop work and field work are separate cost lines. When you're pricing labor, cutting and bending stay apart from unloading, hoisting, and tying.
Crane time, split deliveries, and congested pours all cost money, so we call them out. Work that belongs to other trades, like PT tendons or embeds, is named as an exclusion.
Weight for the steel, length for continuous items, a count for the rest.
